Stewartia Flowering Bonsai Tree
A member of the camellia family, stewartia monodelpha is a frost hardy acid loving plant that makes spectacular bonsai. It has beautiful delicate pale green leaves in summer and can make a spectacular show of autumn colour. Beautiful white flowers are borne in summer. By far the most endearing feature of this species is the shinning copper colour bark and spectacular winter silhouette.
A beautiful big stewartia imported from Japan at the beginning of this year. Beautiful clean unusual shaped (for this variety) trunk with flaking bark and good nebari. Just needs it's branch structure refining and building up now.
