EXCEPTIONAL Korean Hornbeam Bonsai Tree

Korean hornbeam - Carpinus Koreanum. Korean Hornbeam make great Bonsai. The leaf size is very small and autumn colour can be exceptional with green, yellow, pink and browns all at once. Most keep their leaves on over winter.

This kabudachi clump style tree has been in a private collection for many years. This year it's suffered in the scorching dry heat and winds we have had here in east Norfolk, hence the leaf colour. Graham says the vigour is quite low and the tree is in desperate need of a full on repot next spring. A few years in an oversize pot should see the tree come back to full strength quickly. Therefore we have reduced the asking price accordingly. A very beautiful tree with a great future in the right hands at a stupid low price.

Planted in a Chinese glazed stoneware bonsai pot.
