Cork Bark Chinese Elm Shohin Bonsai Tree
- A beautiful little cork bark elm from Japan
- Growing like a weed, these trees develop FAST
- Beautiful craggy trunk
- Planted in a nice unglazed stoneware bonsai pot.
To give it it's full name - Ulmus parvifolia Jacq. corticosa - The Cork bark Chinese elm is a cultivar of the familiar Chinese elm but with one very important difference...the amazing bark. Fully hardy and frost tolerant to minus 5-7 Celsius, this elm is simplicity to keep and train as bonsai. Feed well, prune regularly and re-pot into our No1 Bonsai Soil Mix every year, keep well watered in summer and that's about it. Very attractive autumn colour that can include yellow, brown, green and red at once.
From a private collection, originally from Japan. Beautiful small leaf and fine ramification on a nice clean trunk with great branching and ramification.
10" tall above it's pot. 10" wide overall. 4" diameter nebari.
Planted in an unglazed stoneware bonsai pot.
