All Makita 906 and GD0600s are supplied with a 6mm collet as standard. This will not allow the use of carving tools with a 1/4 inch shaft because 1/4 inch equates to 6.35mm.
Use this alternative fitment for mounting tools with a 1/4" (6.35mm) shaft.
FOR SAFETY REASONS IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU USE THE CORRECTLY SIZED COLLET.
