Wisteria flowering bonsai material.
Wisteria brachybotrys f. albiflora 'Shiro-kapitan'
Naturally a flowering vine wisteria is adaptable to bonsai cultivation and is primarily grown for it's beautiful flowers that appear just as the leaves begin to emerge in spring. The summer image will be very unkempt but the winter image is very attractive. Must be cut back hard and continuously in summer in order to promote flowering. When you get the beautiful lightly scented flowers they make the work entirely worthwhile.
Wisteria is fully frost hardy and will grow in full sun very happily.
Imported from Japan this wisteria is grafted to ensure strong flowering. Wisteria 'Shiro-Kapitan' has stunning pure clean white flowers with a cream/yellow spot in the centre. Flower racemes are super compact, normally about 6" long and have the most beautiful strong scent similar to hyacinth. Summer foliage is much denser than other wisteria varieties.
Planted in a plastic nursery pot.
