Unique Indoor Bonsai Tree Opuntia

Very unusual Indoor Bonsai tree.

Opuntia subulata. Rarely seen as bonsai, this charming and very unusual member of the cactus family is simplicity itself to care for and within a couple of years will develop an impressive tree like shape which can be easily improved with a little pruning and leaf removal. Pruning the tips out of the extensions will cause them to produce side shoots that gradually increases the 'branching' of the plant. Also as the plant pushes up new offsets from around the base it is possible to separate these and develop more plants to pass on to your family and friends. Simple to care for Opuntia need very little water or fertilizer and thrive in semi shade or full sun. The heat of a conservatory in summer makes for an ideal home to this African native plant. Keep warm in winter and DO NOT over water when dormant. Opuntia are very drought tolerant and if you accidentally forget to water for anything up to a couple of weeks they will be fine. Opuntia will not withstand frost, we recommend a minimum winter temperature of above 10 degrees Celsius.

The plant measures approximately 6" tall above it's pot. 7" wide overall.

Planted in a glazed stoneware bonsai pot that may have a few nicks and dings.

Please be aware that in shipping it's possible some small offshoots may come loose and brake away from the main plant.
