St Lucie Cherry Yamadori Bonsai Material
Latin name: Prunus mahaleb
Just perfect for cultivation as bonsai. Small leaves, dense twigging, small white scented flowers and delicate fruit. The plant quickly develops a fine root system. New shoots break from anywhere on the trunk giving the chance to select branches for the future of the tree. Fantastic black bark. Fully frost hardy in the U.K, treat just as you would a blackthorn or hawthorn.
This mahaleb has been on our nursery for a couple of years now. Over winter Graham put some style to it and gave the deadwood a quick brush up. As you can see it's all coming together nicely now. This trees two trunks are connected at the base. Coming along very quickly now, an unusual and beautiful bonsai tree.
19" tall from the top of it's bonsai pot. 33" wide overall. 7" diameter root flare.
*Planted in a glazed bonsai pot that has a chip to it's inner rim.
