Pyracantha Flowering Bonsai Tree
Pyracantha coccinea native to southeastern Europe, the Himalayas and central China. Small oval semi-evergreen leaves. Small white flowers look stunning against the dark green foliage from May to June. These are followed by dense clusters of orange berries that, birds permitting will stay on the tree for most of the winter. Incredibly easy to cultivate as bonsai, pyracantha will tolerate full sun right through to shade. Very cold hardy and perfectly capable of shrugging of the very worst of winter weather. Repot infrequently during summer(3-5 years) in order to maintain flower performance. A much underrated species that should be used for bonsai much more frequently!

A sweet little pyracantha that's coming along really nicely.

9" tall above it's bonsai pot. 9" wide overall.
