Japanese Black Pine Bonsai Tree
The ever popular Japanese Black Pine has a strong rugged character unsurpassed by any other tree in Bonsai Cultivation. Completely hardy in the U.K. fertilize and water sparingly and keep in full sun and well exposed to the elements. Protect from winter wet. Only re-pot infrequently when growth slows down as the soil compacts. We would suggest that in general Japanese black pines only re-pot every 3-8 years depending upon pot size. Use our No3 Bonsai Soil Mix and only repot once active growth starts. Cut back new growth hard in Late July, this will encourage vigour in the tree as well as producing copious back budding. Feed very well from June onwards until late autumn. We highly recommend our Ex-Fish bonsai fertilizer for feeding black pine.
An exceptional small JBP that arrived from Japan over winter 2017/18 that's made outstanding growth this summer. A nice fat trunk with exceptional nebari, nice bark and good branch placement. A beautiful little Japanese bonsai tree with outstanding branch structure and ramification, a much sought after species and a superb low price for this quality, this won't be here long! The tree is currently wired but this can now be removed.
Planted in an unglazed stoneware bonsai pot.
15" tall above it's bonsai pot. 19" wide overall. 6" diameter nebari.
