Acer campestris or field maple is a native British species well suited to Bonsai cultivation. It's a super tough tree that easily accepts the rigours of Bonsai training. The 5 lobed leaves become small once the tree begins to ramify well and the branch structure is very good, making a nice winter silhouette. The tree is fully hardy and will stand full sun to partial shade. Superb pale yellow autumn colour.
A nice gnarly unusual field maple that's been in a pot for a few years now. Some great primary branching and a superb nebari. Field maples are more work than most other acer varieties but are a rewarding project.
26" tall above it's bonsai pot. 24" wide overall. 11" diameter nebari.
Planted in a plastic nursery pot.
