EXCEPTIONAL Japanese White Pine 'Zuisho' Bonsai Tree

Zuisho is a kind of Goyomatsu (Japanese five needle pine) started from a single tree just about 80-90 years ago. The thin & short straight leaves, the speed of growth and its elegant appearance makes this special Goyomatsu stand-out from other existing kinds. The mother Zuisho tree, which is believed to be a mutation of Goyomatsu has been preserved to this day with layering, cutting, and grafting. The mother tree unfortunately died and the existing precious trees are no more than 70 years in age which is very young compared to other famous precious Bonsai trees. Zuisho is very rare and highly prized. In 30 years this is only the second example we have had the privilege to own.

A stunning big and powerful zuisho just in from Japan. With refinement wiring in autumn this stunning tree will be ready for the show bench.

Planted in an unglazed stoneware bonsai pot.
