English Yew Bonsai Tree
Taxus baccatta - English yew Bonsai - Yamadori Bonsai.

Taxus baccatta is probably Britain's finest evergreen species used for bonsai cultivation. Very tough, cold hardy and drought tolerant.
Taxus appreciates well drained soil and copious watering in summer along with regular fertilizing. When dormant taxus should be kept dry.
Only re-pot when absolutely necessary and never until the buds begin to unfurl in spring. Pinching spring growth quickly encourages dense foliage and fine twigging to form.

Graham collected this little yew years ago in Kent. At that point it was just a chop off with no brancehes. Last autumn Kevin Willson did the first styling before Graham put it in it's first pot. Now growing strongly. Now that tip pinching has begun the foliage will fill out quickly. A superb little English yew with a bright future in the right hands.

12" tall above it's pot. 15" wide overall. 6" diameter nebari.

Planted in an unglazed bonsai pot with a cooling crack, see pictures.
