Everyone seems to want one of these in their collection. There is a certain romantic image attached to English Oak. It is a fine tree to cultivate as bonsai. It is tolerant of most conditions but does like full sun when in leaf. Don't re-pot too often and once the tree develops some ramification the leaves will reduce very well. Winter wash in February with a tar wash or dilute lime sulphur to avoid pest problems in summer.
A nice characterful chunky nursery grown oak that should develop into an interesting twin trunk bonsai tree.
