English Hornbeam Bonsai Material
Carpinus betulus
Native to the U.K, carpinus is a principle woodland species that can make a very big and majestic tree. In bonsai cultivation the tree prefers a little protection from the sun in summer and will thrive in very light shade. Completely hardy in the U.K Hornbeam is a very simple and robust tree that is rewarding to care for and train as bonsai. Hornbeam does not need to be re-potted quite as often as other deciduous varieties. Throughout summer regularly remove large leaves and those that either hand down or grow inwards.

Ready for first styling over winter, should result in an impressive compact and powerful bonsai tree. Growing well and full of promise for a bright future. A totally unique native hornbeam.
