English Elm Native Bonsai Material
Ulmus procera. Much sought after and one of the U.Ks finest deciduous species for bonsai the English elm is a great and rewarding tree to grow as bonsai. (see Colin Lewis's book The Art of Bonsai Design).

Procera is fully hardy in all parts of the U.K and grows vigorously thus allowing fast development. For young trees in the early stages of development it is best to re-pot every year into akadama. This will keep the trees vigour high. Mature trees can be left two or three years between re-potting. Autumn will see the tree put on a splendid display of yellow colour before leaf drop.

A superb craggy hollow trunk elm with beautiful small leaves. Now well established and growing strongly. First wiring over next winter will set this up nicely for it's promising future. Rough carving work previously completed.

10" tall above it's pot. 17" wide overall.
