English Beech Bonsai Tree - Native Bonsai Fagus sylvatica
English beech is an excellent species for bonsai cultivation. Fully hardy and tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Given time the tree makes fine dense twigging and an excellent winter silhouette. Keep in full sun or light shade, water very well and re-pot every 2-4 years. A simple and undemanding tree to keep and maintain. Many trees keep their brown leaves throughout the winter.
From a private collection. This beech was collected from the wild many years ago where it was kept small by grazing deer. All the trunks of this beautiful tree are connected. The trunks are largely free of significant pruning scars and the branch structure is some of the best we have seen on any native beech tree. A stunning raft style bonsai tree in summer or winter. It will be a very long time before you find another beech of this impressive quality.
