Fagus sylvatica-English beech is an excellent species for bonsai cultivation. Fully hardy and tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Given time the tree makes fine dense twigging and an excellent winter silhouette. Keep in full sun or light shade, water very well and re-pot every 2-4 years. A simple and undemanding tree to keep and maintain. Many trees keep their brown leaves throughout the winter.

This unusual and entirely natural tree (grazed by deer) has a beautiful character that will only improve with age. Leave in this pot for 2/3 years and with careful pruning a very natural looking tree will result.
