Dwarf Lilac Flowering Bonsai Material
Syringa meyeri Palibin is a very rare species to find in bonsai cultivation which is a big shame. This form has small heart shaped leaves and blue/purple flowers in early summer that have a beautiful scent on warm days. Cultivation is simplicity itself, the trees are very undemanding but like full sun and lots of water in summer. Syringa has a suckering habit so lends itself to cultivating in the classic clump style bonsai (kabudachi)
