Cork Bark Japanese Black Pine Bonsai Tree
Pinus thunbergii 'cortiicata'

The ever popular Japanese Black Pine has a strong rugged character unsurpassed by any other tree in Bonsai Cultivation. Completely hardy in the U.K. fertilize and water sparingly and keep in full sun and well exposed to the elements. Protect from winter wet. Only re-pot infrequently when growth slows down as the soil compacts. We would suggest that in general Japanese black pines only re-pot every 3-10 years depending upon pot size. Use our No3 Bonsai Soil Mix and only repot once active growth starts. Cut back new growth hard in Late July, this will encourage vigor in the tree as well as producing copious back budding. Feed very well from July onwards until late autumn. We highly recommend our Ex-Fish bonsai fertilizer for feeding black pine.

From a private collection and priced to clear.

Imported from Japan 2020.

10" tall above it's pot. 9" wide overall.
