Atlas Blue Cedar Bonsai Tree
Cedrus Atlantica Glauca - There are several types of cedar that lend themselves to bonsai training. However finding one has never been easy. Of all the forms available Atlas blue is one of the most sought after. The foliage is incredibly compact and grows vertical shoots on top of the branches. The needles are always very small and almost blue when grown in direct sunlight, more green when grown in shade. Cedar is fully hardy in the U.K. the tree is extremely drought tolerant and likes full sun and plenty of exposure. Feed regularly but sparingly and do not re-pot too often. If you failed with every other species of bonsai we think you will succeed with this one!
This big cedar came from a private collection. It's very evident this incredible craggy old tree has spent many years growing in a bonsai pot. Beautiful old cracked deadwood and craggy bark. Good branch structure and super green/blue dense foliage. Some minor wire damage in it's upper part but this is fairly easy to overcome with this thick barked variety. A beautiful old tree and something you will likely not see again for a very long time,
33" tall overall. 24" wide overall. 6" diameter nebari.
Planted in a nice unglazed stoneware bonsai pot.
