Yamadori & Raw Material

Over the past few years we have noticed a strong move towards using native and naturalised trees for Bonsai. These species are well adapted to cultivation as Bonsai and develop very fast in the climate we have here in the U.K. Kaizen Bonsai is pleased to be able to offer (for the first time on the web) you the chance to view and buy some outstanding quality material.
All these plants are carefully selected, predominantly from wild collected stock, for their suitability to Bonsai cultivation. The Japanese term 'yamadori' is a much over exercised word but the fundamental meaning in 'mountain tree' or 'tree from the mountains'. Therefore wherever you see the word used here you can be assured that the subject has been collected from mountains somewhere in Europe. Other trees are sourced from woodland, land clearance sites, domestic gardens, nurseries and just a few may be field grown specifically for Bonsai.

* The tree pictured is the exact tree you will receive!
* All these plants are well established in their pots and have compact and fibrous root systems. None are rooted in heavy clay, only good open soil/leaf mould/pumice etc'.
* All plants are ethically obtained and with permission.
* Plants are all growing strongly and are pest free.
* Only material with good characteristics for Bonsai will be listed here.
* Dimensions are approximate and the height of the Tree quoted is from the top of it's pot to the apex of the tree excluding leafy growth.
* Trunk dimensions are taken just above where the root flare meets the trees main trunk.
* Cultural guidelines for all trees are available upon request.
* All tree prices include U.K. delivery & VAT.
